1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2214
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 2214, AS AMENDED,
3 immediately below the end of Article 4, by inserting the
4 following:
5 "ARTICLE 5
6 Section 5-5. Upon payment of the sum of $1, the Director
7 of the Historic Preservation Agency, on behalf of the State
8 of Illinois, is authorized to convey by quitclaim deed to
9 Lewis University all right, title, and interest in and to the
10 following described real property located in Will County,
11 Illinois:
12 That part of Lot 8 in Fitzpatrick Subdivision, being a
13 subdivision of part of Section 15, Township 36 North, Range
14 10 East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the
15 plat thereof recorded May 12, 1933, in Plat Book 23, pages 30
16 and 31 as document no. 464335, described as follows:
17 commencing at the southwest corner of the southeast 1/4 of
18 said Section 15; thence north along the north-south center
19 line of said Section 15, for a distance of 1,089 feet; thence
20 west and perpendicular to the last described line for a
21 distance of 155.13 feet to the east right-of-way line of

1 Illinois State Route 53; thence north along said right-of-way
2 line for a distance of 110 feet for a point of beginning;
3 thence east and perpendicular to the last described line for
4 a distance of 300 feet; thence north and perpendicular to the
5 last described line for a distance of 350 feet; thence west
6 and perpendicular to the last described line a distance of
7 300 feet to the east right-of-way line of Illinois State
8 Route 53; thence south along said right-of-way line for a
9 distance of 350 feet to the point of beginning, all in Will
10 County, Illinois.
11 Section 5-10. The conveyance of real property authorized
12 by Section 5-5 shall be made subject to the express condition
13 that the property must be maintained as a historic property
14 in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards
15 for the Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings, and the
16 property must be used for public or educational purposes and
17 that if the property ceases to be used for public or
18 educational purposes, or is not maintained as a historic
19 building it shall revert to the State of Illinois without
20 further action on the part of the State.".
