1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 390
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 390 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 15 through 20 with the following:
4 "subsection. For purposes of this Section, a reasonable
5 inquiry includes, but is not limited to, identifying a member
6 of the patient's family or other health care agent by
7 examining the patient's personal effects or medical records.
8 If a family member or other health care agent is identified,
9 an attempt to contact that person by telephone must be made
10 within 24 hours after a determination by the provider that
11 the patient lacks decisional capacity.".
