1 AN ACT in relation to vehicles.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5 adding Section 18b-109.1 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/18b-109.1 new)
7 Sec. 18b-109.1. Commercial motor vehicles rated unsafe.
8 The Department may prohibit motor carriers from operating
9 commercial motor vehicles that have received a final
10 unsatisfactory rating from the United States Department of
11 Transportation under part 385 of the Federal Motor Carrier
12 Safety Administration regulations (49 CFR 385).
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
