1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3192
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3192 as follows:
3 on page 2, line 14, by replacing "summary" with "report
4 summary"; and
5 on page 2, line 16, after "disabilities", by inserting ",
6 makes recommendations to address unmet needs, and summarizes
7 the steps taken to address unmet needs based on the
8 recommendations made in previous reports"; and
9 on page 2, line 18, by replacing "summary" with "report"; and
10 on page 2, line 21, by replacing "and" with ", be"; and
11 on page 2, line 22, after "request", by inserting ", and be
12 sent to each member of the General Assembly whose district
13 encompasses the area served by the Transition Planning
14 Committee"; and
15 on page 2, line 24, after "by", by inserting "adding Section
16 14-3.05 and"; and
17 on page 2, immediately below line 25, by inserting the
18 following:
19 "(105 ILCS 5/14-3.05 new)
20 Sec. 14-3.05. Study on post-school experiences. The

1 State Board of Education must contract with an entity
2 experienced in applied research to conduct a longitudinal
3 study over 5 years, to be completed on or before May 31,
4 2006, of the post-school experiences of children with
5 disabilities who exit high schools in this State in 2001,
6 including employment, post-secondary education, vocational
7 education, continuing and adult education, independent
8 living, community participation, and adult services. The
9 State Board of Education must provide an interim report of
10 this study to the Governor and the General Assembly on or
11 before May 31, 2002 and on or before May 31, 2004. The State
12 Board of Education must provide a final report of this study
13 to the Governor and the General Assembly on or before May 31,
14 2006."; and
15 on page 3, line 2, after "shall", by inserting "be based on
16 appropriate evaluation procedures and information, take into
17 consideration the preferences of the student and his or her
18 parents or guardian, be outcome-oriented, and".
