1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Senate is grateful to those members who have
3 devoted their energy and talent to the betterment of this
4 body and the well being of the people of the State of
5 Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, Robert S. Molaro of Chicago was elected to the
7 Illinois Senate in 1992 and has served this body with
8 distinction throughout his ten years as a member; and
9 WHEREAS, During his three terms in the Senate, Senator
10 Molaro served as Democratic spokesman of the Senate Licensed
11 Activities Committee, the Higher Education Committee and most
12 recently as the Democratic spokesperson of the Senate
13 Executive Committee; and
14 WHEREAS, Senator Molaro has also served on the Committees
15 on Insurance, Pensions and Licensed Activities, Judiciary,
16 and Transportation, and the Pension Laws Commission; and
17 WHEREAS, Senator Molaro has numerous legislative
18 accomplishments which have enhanced the quality of life for
19 the people of his culturally and racially diverse Chicago
20 legislative district, including legislation prohibiting
21 trains from blocking railroad crossings during heavy traffic
22 hours; and
23 WHEREAS, Senator Molaro has enlightened the Senate with
24 his considerable acumen regarding the issues that confront
25 the Senate, and he will be long remembered for his versatile
26 wit that has brought humor and a sense of perspective to the
27 Senate's debate; and
28 WHEREAS, Senator Molaro is leaving the Senate upon his
29 election in the 2002 General Election as the Illinois State
30 Representative from the 21st Representative District in
31 Chicago; therefore be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, That we offer our best
3 wishes to Senator Robert S. Molaro upon his retirement from
4 the Senate and his election to the Illinois House of
5 Representatives; we offer hope for a rewarding future with
6 his wife, Barbara, and their five children; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and
8 resolution be presented to Senator Robert S. Molaro as a
9 measure of our esteem and respect for our colleague and
10 friend.
