 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Senator Claude "Bud" Stone served the people  of
 3    Central Illinois so ably for the past 18 months; and

 4        WHEREAS,  Senator  Stone  approached  the office of State
 5    Senator with  respect  for  the  legislative  process  and  a
 6    sincere desire to do the best for his constituents; and

 7        WHEREAS,  He  contributed  his  experience in the private
 8    sector to the important issues  facing  Illinois  government;
 9    and

10        WHEREAS,  Senator  Stone  was  a  member  of  the  Senate
11    Committees  on  Agriculture  and  Conservation,  and Licensed
12    Activities; and

13        WHEREAS, His extensive  civic  experience  and  community
14    service  included  stints with the Peoria Planning and Zoning
15    Commission, the  Morton  Planning  Commission,  the  Tazewell
16    County  Board,  the  Boy  Scouts of America, the White School
17    PTA, the Grundy School PTA, and the Morton  Athletic  Booster
18    Club   and  he  was  a  coach  for  little  league  baseball,
19    basketball and football; and

20        WHEREAS, He spent 33  years  with  Caterpillar,  retiring
21    from a management position in 1985; and

22        WHEREAS,  "Bud" Stone is the son of Claude Stone, Sr. who
23    served as Congressman from Illinois' old  18th  Congressional
24    District; and

25        WHEREAS,  He  is  the husband of wife Mary Louise and the
26    father of three children and grandfather of  six;  therefore,
27    be it

28        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
29    ASSEMBLY OF THE   STATE  OF  ILLINOIS,  that  we  extend  our
30    sincere  thanks  to Claude "Bud" Stone for his service to the

 1    people of the State of  Illinois  and  honor  him  with  this
 2    resolution; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of  this preamble and
 4    resolution be presented to "Bud" with our best wishes.
