1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Raymond F.
4 Bryska of Palos Heights on Saturday, December 28, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Bryska was born on January 24, 1914 in
6 Chicago; he served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a
7 paratrooper and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and
8 Bronze Star; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Bryska was an active and energetic civic
10 leader; he had served as an Alderman for the City of Palos
11 Heights from 1977 to 1991; he had served as President and was
12 the Secretary of the Palos Lions Club, was a member of Palos
13 Heights V.F.W. Post #7454, and had served as President for
14 the Ishnala Home Owners Association; and
15 WHEREAS, A humble and generous person, it has been said
16 of Ray that he was not only a gift to his family, but a gift
17 to his community; his passing will be deeply felt by all who
18 knew him, especially his wife, Eleanor A.; his children,
19 Pattie (Frederick) Muller and Raymond W. (Sandee) Bryska; his
20 grandchildren, Catherine (Brad) Jongsma, Andrea (Brad) Kuhn,
21 Jill (Saul) Tonielli, and Nicholas Muller; his
22 great-grandchild, Miles Tonielli; his nephews, Raymond and
23 John Bandusky; and his stepsisters, Gertrude Vanella and Rita
24 Swiderski; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
27 of Raymond F. Bryska, whose noble contributions to his
28 community will be long remembered, and offer our sincere
29 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Raymond F. Bryska with our deepest
