1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Wyoline Degler of Winthrop Harbor, who passed away on
5 August 10, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Wyoline Degler was born on June 4, 1936 in
7 Experiment, Georgia; she was a graduate of Albany High School
8 in Albany, Georgia; and
9 WHEREAS, Wyoline Degler was a member of First Baptist
10 Church of Winthrop Harbor and she was employed as the
11 Recreation Director/Coordinator for the Village of Winthrop
12 Harbor; and
13 WHEREAS, Wyoline Degler was very active in every aspect
14 of the Village of Winthrop Harbor since the early 1960s
15 including serving on the Planning Commission, the Baseball
16 Association, the Boy Scouts, the P.T.A., Toys For Tots, the
17 Recreation Advisory Board, Little League, and numerous other
18 organizations; she also coached softball; and in 1983 she was
19 awarded the "Outstanding Citizen Of The Year" award from the
20 Village of Winthrop Harbor; and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of Wyoline Degler will be deeply
22 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her children,
23 Victor D. (wife, Rosalind) Degler, Richard "Dick" (wife,
24 Cheryl) Degler, Todd A. Degler, and Rodney S. Degler; her
25 grandchildren, Lindsay, Cory, Drew, Christy, and Brett
26 Degler; her mother Alline T. Denby; her sister Gayle
27 (husband, Bobby) Cox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great
28 nieces and great nephews; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
31 all who knew her, the death of Wyoline Degler of Winthrop

1 Harbor; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Wyoline Degler with our sincere
4 condolences.
