1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of John Killeen O'Connor of Northfield,
4 who passed away July 7, 2002, at the age of 70; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor was a highly respected, generous,
6 and decent man and was sought after as a tax attorney and
7 business consultant because of his integrity and
8 straightforward manner; and
9 WHEREAS, After graduating from the College of the Holy
10 Cross and Harvard Law School, Mr. O'Connor joined Lord,
11 Bissell & Brook, a Chicago law firm, where he became a
12 managing partner and practiced until his retirement in 1995;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor donated to and volunteered for
15 numerous charities, including the Howard Area Community
16 Center in Rogers Park; he had a compassion for people less
17 fortunate than himself, something he taught all of his
18 children; and
19 WHEREAS, In Wilmette, Mr. O'Connor served on the school
20 board at St. Joseph parish and was in the Christian Family
21 Movement; he was a former president of the Wilmette Public
22 Library Board; and
23 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor also spent a great deal of time
24 with his girlfriend, Dona-Lee Trotter, mother of chef Carlie
25 Trotter; and
26 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor will be greatly missed by all those
27 who knew him and loved him, especially his girlfriend,
28 Dona-Lee Trotter; his son, Thomas O'Connor; his daughters,
29 Mary Ann O'Connor, Maureen Mosher, Ellen Raczyk, and Claire
30 Nass; his brother, Thomas O'Connor; his sisters, Catherine
31 Kelly and Vivian Malloy; and his nine grandchildren;

1 therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4 his family and friends, the death of John Killeen O'Connor;
5 and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the family of John Killeen O'Connor with our
8 sincere condolences.
