1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends
4 of Regina Spears, who passed away on July 8, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Born on December 16, 1962 in Peoria to Samuel W.
6 and Anna Albert Joseph, Regina Spears married Robert M.
7 Spears on November 10, 1990; and
8 WHEREAS, A graduate of Bergan High School and Illinois
9 State University, Mrs. Spears was elected as Peoria County
10 Circuit Clerk in 1998; she was also an active member of the
11 Peoria County Democratic Party; and
12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Spears was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
13 Church in Kickapoo; she was also a member of the St.
14 Patrick's Society in Peoria, a member of the Itoo Society,
15 and served as a past officer of the Ladies Itoo Society; and
16 WHEREAS, Regina Spears was a 2001 recipient of 40 Leaders
17 Under 40 Award; and
18 WHEREAS, The passing of Regina Spears will be deeply felt
19 by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Robert
20 Spears; her mother, Anna Albert Joseph; her daughters, Annie
21 Spears, Isabel Spears, and Samantha Spears; her brothers,
22 Samuel S. Joseph and Gary Joseph; her sisters, Mary (husband,
23 Patrick) Shryock, Diana Joseph, and Rebecca (husband, David)
24 Shealy; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
27 all who knew her, the death of Regina Spears of Princeville,
28 Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the family of Regina Spears with our sincere
