1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 Robert Thiemann, who passed away on May 3, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Robert Thiemann was born on November 22, 1921,
6 in Peoria to Walter F. and Anna Moser Thiemann; he married
7 Wilma Bueckle on May 13, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Thiemann was a graduate of the United States
9 Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York; he served
10 as a deck officer during World War II; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Thiemann was a real estate broker and
12 appraiser; he owned R.E. Thiemann Realty Co.; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Thiemann was the past president of the
14 Peoria Board of Realtors and past vice president of the
15 Illinois Association of Realtors; he was also past president
16 of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. Thiemann was a former member of the Peoria
18 City Planning Commission and Public Building Commission, a
19 28-year board member and past chairman of the Peoria County
20 Board of Review, past chairman and member of the Peoria
21 County Board of Supervisors, past board member and life
22 member of the Peoria YMCA, life member of the Creve Coeur
23 Club of Peoria, and past member of the University Club of
24 Peoria; and
25 WHEREAS, Mr. Thiemann was a lifelong member of
26 Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria; and
27 WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Thiemann will be deeply
28 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
29 Wilma; his sons, Dr. William, Fred (Carol), and Bruce (Teri);
30 his daughters, Jerie (Tim) Taylor and June (Dan)

1 Thiemann-Bartholomay; his brothers, Bill, and Jack; and his
2 10 grandchildren; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 all who knew him, the death of Robert Thiemann of Peoria,
6 Illinois; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Robert Thiemann with our sincere
9 condolences.
