1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of William J. Drury, who passed away on March 15, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, William J. Drury was born on September 3, 1920
6 in Carlinville, Illinois, to Charles Edwin and Elizabeth
7 Terlip Drury; he married Alice Hammann Tostberg in 1988; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Drury was a builder, contractor, and
9 carpenter; he co-owned Drury Co., retiring in the early
10 1970s; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Drury was a United States Navy veteran of
12 World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Drury was a member of Saints Mary and Joseph
14 Church and John L. Meyer VFW; he was a past member of
15 Carlinville Country Club and Carlinville Elks Lodge; and
16 WHEREAS, The passing of William J. Drury will be deeply
17 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
18 Alice; his daughters, Marsha (husband, Kurt) Mundstock, Sonya
19 Drury, and Angela (husband, Vern II) Hawkins; his four
20 grandchildren; his great-grandchild; his brother, Robert E.
21 Drury; his sister, Louise (husband, Louis) Darscheid; and his
22 many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
25 all who knew him, the death of William J. Drury of
26 Carlinville, Illinois; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of William J. Drury with our sincere
29 condolences.
