1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Jermaine Cortez "Smoov" Lockridge, who passed away on
5 March 3, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Jermaine Cortez Lockridge was the second child
7 born to the union on Mr. Albert Lockridge and the late Mrs.
8 Hortense R. Lockridge nee Stacker on September 18, 1970 in
9 East St. Louis, Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, Jermaine Lockridge attended and graduated from
11 East St. Louis Senior High School; he then attended
12 Belleville Area College for a short time before moving to
13 California; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Lockridge was employed by Domino's Pizza,
15 Inc. as a manager; he returned to East St. Louis in last 1993
16 and was soon employed by the City of East St. Louis as a
17 laborer for the Public Works Department; and
18 WHEREAS, The passing of Jermaine Cortez "Smoov" Lockridge
19 will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially
20 his daughter, Jermya Gernisha Lockridge; his father, Albert
21 Lockridge; his sister, Michelle (Maurice) Belk; his nieces,
22 Maurche, Maurkeysha, and Mashele Belk; his very special and
23 devoted aunt, Shirley Lewis; his cousins, George "T" Stacker,
24 Jr., Cortez Stacker, Ramon "Dante" Stacker, Sr., and Kyamia
25 Lewis; his extended family which includes, Joyce Tabbs,
26 Karashia Tabbs, and Aron Tabbs, Sr.; and his aunts, uncles,
27 great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore,
28 be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
31 all who knew him, the death of Jermaine Cortez "Smoov"

1 Lockridge of East St. Louis, Illinois; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Jermaine Cortez "Smoov" Lockridge
4 with our sincere condolences.
