1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate express their
3 condolences to the family and friends of Richard "Dick"
4 O'Connor of Naperville, who passed away February 5, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr O'Connor was born October 11, 1925 to Albert
6 and Osamaude O'Connor in Huntington, West Virginia; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor was a retired sales representative
8 for Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company, with 29 years of
9 service; he was a World War II Air Force Veteran and was a
10 member of the VFW Judd-Kendall Post #3873 and the American
11 Legion Post #43; Mr. O'Connor had a private pilot's license;
12 he was one of the founding gardeners of the Naperville Men's
13 Garden Club and had written articles for the Daily Herald and
14 the Web Today; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor will be remembered by those who
16 were close to him as a great family man; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. O'Connor will be deeply missed by all those
18 who knew him and loved him, including his wife, Betty Jo; his
19 sons, Glenn (Joyce) Edwards, Richard L. Jr. (Robin) O'Connor,
20 and Emery (Lynette) Edwards; his daughter, Karen (Roy)
21 Chlebek; and his grandchildren, Wade, Beth, Travis, and Debra
22 Edwards and Sarah and Michael O'Connor; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
25 his family and friends, the passing of Richard "Dick"
26 O'Connor; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution is
28 presented to his wife, Betty Jo O'Connor.
