1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Robert H. Eckert, who passed away on September 3, 2001;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Robert H. Eckert was born on July 14, 1924 in
7 Belleville, Illinois to Edwin and Minnie Eckert; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Eckert was a veteran of the United States
9 Navy; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Eckert retired as a Sergeant from the
11 Belleville Police Department after 25 years of service; he
12 also served as Chief of Safety and Security at St. Elizabeth
13 Hospital in Belleville; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Eckert was a member of St. Paul United
15 Church of Christ in Belleville, VFW Post 1739, and the
16 Belleville Police Benevolent Association; and
17 WHEREAS, The passing of Robert H. Eckert will be deeply
18 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
19 Shirley Eckert; his sons, Michael H. (Jean) Eckert and Mark
20 W. (Rita) Eckert; his sister, Louise Coles; his brother,
21 Charles E. (Betty) Eckert; and his grandchildren, Matthew
22 Eckert, Brian Eckert (fiance, Leslie Crook), Beth Eckert,
23 Kate Eckert, Luke Eckert, and Lucy Eckert; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
26 all who knew him, the death of Robert H. Eckert of
27 Belleville, Illinois; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Robert H. Eckert with our sincere
30 condolences.
