1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of David W. Stoner, who passed away on November 17, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, David W. Stoner was born on November 9, 1946 in
6 Chicago, Illinois to the late Harry B. and Ann M. Stoner; the
7 Stoner family built Northgate Shopping Center and owned The
8 Lektro Vend Corp.; and
9 WHEREAS, David Stoner and his wife, Gyda, jointly ran the
10 Northgate Shopping Center in Aurora until it was sold in
11 1998; Mr. Stoner was also an engineer at Lektro Vend Corp.
12 from the 1970s through 1993; and
13 WHEREAS, David Stoner was a member of University of
14 Shopping Centers, A.S.P.D. and Certified Shopping Center
15 Managers; in addition, he and his wife Gyda were charter
16 members of the Aurora Exchange Club and helped found the
17 DeKalb Exchange Club; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner was a member of the United States
19 Power Squadron, a national boating organization, serving as a
20 Staff Commander; during the early 1970s, Mr. Stoner and his
21 father-in-law wrote a book explaining how to program the
22 latest Hewlett-Packard calculators for ocean navigation; and
23 WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner served as Scoutmaster for Troop #3 at
24 New England Congregational Church in Aurora from 1990 through
25 1995 where he held Vigil Honors, Order of the Arrow and
26 District Award; and
27 WHEREAS, The passing of David W. Stoner will be deeply
28 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
29 Gyda, and his sons, William Stoner and David Dale (Danelle)
30 Stoner; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3 all who knew him, the death of David W. Stoner of Aurora,
4 Illinois; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of David W. Stoner with our sincere
7 condolences.
