1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Frank Albachiaro, who passed away on October 5, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Albachiaro was born and raised on the corner
6 of Taylor and May streets in Chicago's Little Italy, living
7 over the ice cream store his mother ran; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Albachiaro attended St. Ignatius High School
9 and St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota; he served in the
10 United States Army during World War II as a medic in Europe;
11 after the war, he received his bachelor's degree in commerce
12 from Loyola University; and
13 WHEREAS, After college, Mr. Albachiaro worked for a year
14 at Goldblatt's department stores before joining the Chicago
15 Sun-Times as a junior accountant and rising to controller in
16 1975, where he remained until his retirement in 1984; and
17 WHEREAS, The passing of Frank Albachiaro will be deeply
18 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Vita
19 Nancy Albachiaro; his children, Susan (husband, William) Lyne
20 and Vincent Albachiaro; his grandchildren, William, Kathryn
21 and Natalie Lyne; his siblings, Carmella DeSanti and Marie
22 Paul; his brothers-in-law, John, Louis, Edward, Joseph, and
23 Michael Scannicchio; and his many nieces and nephews;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
27 all who knew him, the death of Frank Albachiaro of Park
28 Ridge, Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the family of Frank Albachiaro with our sincere
