1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Joseph K. Brown, who passed away on September 13, 2001;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Joseph K. Brown was born on April 4, 1929 in
7 Ottawa, Illinois to Alex and Edna Hetzel Brown; he married
8 Wanda Young in 1951 in Ottawa; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown worked for the Illinois State Fair
10 Department of Agriculture as a glazier locksmith for 27 years
11 through Local 1168 in Champaign; in addition, he was the
12 owner and operator of Jowan Golf Carts Ltd. for 8 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown was a member of Holy Family Church in
14 Lincoln, a 36-year member of the Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, a
15 member of the American Legion Post 236 in Lincoln and 3rd and
16 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 1250; in addition, he
17 served as a United States Army medic during the Korean War;
18 and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Joseph K. Brown will be deeply
20 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
21 Wanda; his son, Jeffrey (wife, Alice) Brown; his daughters,
22 Jennifer (husband, Michael) Richner, Jill Eades, and Jan
23 (husband, Jim) Litterly; his 7 grandchildren; and his
24 sisters, Irene Barichello, Peggy (husband, Bob) Engel, and
25 Shirley (husband, Alex) Bower; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
28 all who knew him, the death of Joseph K. Brown of Lincoln,
29 Illinois; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Joseph K. Brown with our sincere
