1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Albert Weinberg, who passed away on September 18, 2001;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Weinberg was the youngest of seven children
7 born to a working-class family of Russian immigrants; and
8 WHEREAS, After graduating from Marshall High School, he
9 worked at a post office while taking classes at DePaul
10 College of Law; he graduated in the early 1940's, the same
11 time he married his wife, Tybal; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Weinberg served as a Staff Sergeant in the
13 United States Army Air Force in the South Pacific during
14 World War II; he later maintained his Chicago real estate law
15 practice for 60 years; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Weinberg was active with The Veterans of
17 Foreign Wars and the Jewish War Veterans; in 1959, while
18 serving as president of the Albany Park Hebrew Congregation,
19 he hosted Eleanor Roosevelt in his home; and
20 WHEREAS, The passing of Albert Weinberg will be deeply
21 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 61
22 years, Tybal; his children, Marshall Weinberg, Sulie
23 Cohn-Grayson, and Shari Weinberg; and his nine grandchildren;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
27 all who knew him, the death of Albert Weinberg of Wilmette,
28 Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the family of Albert Weinberg with our sincere
