1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Judy Ann Rivard, who passed away on August 21, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Rivard, a Detroit native, became a resident
6 of Downers Grove in 1972; and
7 WHEREAS, In 1973, Mrs. Rivard began her career as the
8 secretary to the athletic director at Illinois Benedictine
9 College, now Benedictine University; she was later promoted
10 to administrative assistant, where she worked until her
11 retirement in May 2001; and
12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Rivard was regarded as "Mom" to those she
13 worked with; she enjoyed every aspect of her job but will be
14 remembered for having a strong impact on the lives of not
15 only her co-workers, but also the students, faculty and staff
16 at Benedictine University; and
17 WHEREAS, In August 2001, Mrs. Rivard was presented with
18 Benedictine University's first Lifetime Achievement Award and
19 inducted into its Hall of Fame after her 28 years of service
20 to the university; and
21 WHEREAS, Mrs. Rivard was a former president of the
22 Mother's Club at Benet Academy; in addition, she was an avid
23 Notre Dame football fan and had all of her grandchildren
24 fitted with Notre Dame football t-shirts soon after they were
25 born; and
26 WHEREAS, The passing of Judy Ann Rivard will be deeply
27 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband,
28 Chuck; her sons, Paul and Kenneth; her brother, Jeffrey
29 Toutant; her sister, Joan Miller; and her 9 grandchildren;
30 therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3 all who knew her, the death of Judy Ann Rivard of Downers
4 Grove, Illinois; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Judy Ann Rivard with our sincere
7 condolences.
