1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Richard Purham, who passed away on June 11, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, Richard Purham was born on August 14, 1937 in
6 Lauderdale, Tennessee to J.B. and Mosella Purham; and
7 WHEREAS, Richard Purham was a graduate from Elementary
8 and Lauderdale High School; and
9 WHEREAS, Richard Purham moved to Chicago, Illinois, where
10 he met Jerline Evans; they were married on January 16, 1961;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, Richard Purham was employed as an Administrative
13 Assistant to Illinois State Representative William Shaw; and
14 WHEREAS, The passing of Richard Purham will be deeply
15 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
16 Jerline; his step-daughter, Diane Kiser; his
17 step-grandchildren; his step-great-grandchild; his brother,
18 J.Y. Purham; his sisters, Rosa Ella Kearney, Annie Rebecca
19 Ross, and Ethel Walker; his father-in-law and mother-in-law,
20 Harvey and Rosia Lee Young; his son-in-law; his three
21 brothers-in-law; his two sisters-in-law; and a host of
22 nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
25 all who knew him, the death of Richard Purham of Chicago,
26 Illinois; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Richard Purham with our sincere
29 condolences.
