1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Chester G. Clark, who passed away on April 26, 2001; and
5 WHEREAS, Chester G. Clark was born on November 18, 1911,
6 in Alton, Illinois to the late William and Lucy Idelle Clark;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, Chester G. Clark was employed at Olin Corp. for
9 thirty-five years, retiring in 1966; he also owned and
10 operated Clark Boat and Motors Inc. since 1953; and
11 WHEREAS, Chester G. Clark was a member of the Abundant
12 Life Christian Center, sponsored Ski Pals of Alton, a member
13 of the River Bend Growth Association, charter sponsor for the
14 Celebration of Christmas, in which he had one of the first
15 Christmas displays, and he spearheaded the Great River Road
16 boat launching program; in addition he loved hunting, managed
17 and played softball and basketball, and enjoyed bowling; and
18 WHEREAS, The passing of Chester G. Clark will be deeply
19 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of
20 sixty-one years, Juanita; his daughter, JoAnn Klaassen; his
21 sons, Kenneth (wife, Maxine) Clark, Donald (wife, Judy)
22 Clark, Vernon (wife, Fran) Clark, Marion Clark, and Les
23 (wife, Beth) Clark; his fifteen grandchildren; his
24 twenty-four great grandchildren; his great-great grandchild;
25 and his sister, Clarida Carpenter; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
28 all who knew him, the death of Chester G. Clark of Alton,
29 Illinois; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Chester G. Clark with our sincere
