1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Roosevelt Stewart, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Roosevelt Stewart was born in Lexington,
6 Mississippi on April 23, 1931; his parents were Clyde and
7 Ollie (Pilgram) Stewart; and
8 WHEREAS, Roosevelt Stewart was a retired truck driver;
9 after his retirement he worked around his home and yard and
10 spent quality time with his cherished grandchildren; and
11 WHEREAS, The passing of Roosevelt Stewart will be deeply
12 felt by all who knew him, especially his loving wife of
13 forty-eight years, Josephine Stewart; his sons, Roosevelt,
14 Jr. (wife, Louise), Roell (wife, Rochelle), Roland, and
15 Rolando; his grandchildren, Antwoine, Antoniette, Lavonte,
16 Baron, Rolando, Jr., and Ronesha; his sisters, Magnoria
17 (husband, Clarence) Brooks, Dessie L. (husband, J.C.)
18 Thompson, Adell Bowman, and Ruby Powell (husband, Richard)
19 Pickens; his brothers, Esley (wife, Henrine), O.D., Elmoe
20 (wife, Betty), Eddie, and Wesley; his mother-in-law, Helen
21 Tucker; his sisters-in-law, Jeanette (husband, QuoVadis),
22 Maxine (husband, James), and Shirley; his brothers-in-law,
23 Robert (wife Artna) Tucker and Stanley (wife, Pam) Tucker;
24 and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews,
25 cousins, and many friends; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
28 all who knew him, the death of Roosevelt Stewart; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Roosevelt Stewart.
