1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Chris V. Brush, who passed away on November 20, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, Chris V. Brush graduated from the United States
6 Coast Guard Academy in 1941; he served during World War II
7 and took part in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily and
8 Italy; in 1946 he resigned his Coast Guard Commission as a
9 Lieutenant Commander and entered the private sector as a life
10 insurance agent for Northwestern Mutual; after he moved his
11 family to Columbus, Ohio in 1961, he continued working for
12 Northwestern Mutual as a General Agent until his retirement;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, Chris V. Brush was a member of St. Agatha
15 Catholic Church and the Columbus Club; he served in numerous
16 local and national insurance associations as well as being a
17 trustee of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association; and
18 WHEREAS, The passing of Chris V. Brush will be deeply
19 felt by all who knew and and loved him, especially his wife
20 of 58 years, Eloise Stumm Brush, formerly of Aurora; his
21 children, Carol B. Brooks, Nancy (husband, Michael) Edwards,
22 C. Bernard (wife, Victoria) Brush, Thomas (wife, Mindy)
23 Brush, and John M. Brush; his sixteen grandchildren; his six
24 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sophie Murphy;
25 therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
28 all who knew him, the death of Chris V. Brush of Upper
29 Arlington, Ohio; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Chris V. Brush with our sincere
