1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Mary L. Gillespie, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Mary Gillespie was the loving daughter of the
6 late John and Mary O'Connor Durnin; both of her parents were
7 born in Ireland; and
8 WHEREAS, Mary Gillespie was lovingly known as Cousi
9 within her extended family; and
10 WHEREAS, Mary Gillespie and her loving husband, the late
11 Hugh M. Gillespie, raised their family in Chicago's Morgan
12 Park neighborhood; she was preceded in death by her son, Hugh
13 M. Gillespie; and
14 WHEREAS, Mary Gillespie recently resided at the
15 Washington and Jane Smith Home in Chicago's Morgan Park
16 neighborhood; and
17 WHEREAS, Mary Gillespie was a lifelong member of St.
18 Cajetan Catholic Parish; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Mary L. Gillespie will be deeply
20 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her children,
21 Michael P. Gillespie, and Rose Mary (husband, James T. O.D.)
22 Day; and her grandchildren, James Durnin and Michael Thomas
23 Day; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
26 all who knew her, the death of Mary L. Gillespie of Chicago,
27 Illinois; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Mary L. Gillespie.
