1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of the Reverend Victor Sivore, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Father Victor Sivore was the pastor of Saints
6 Cyril & Methodius Church in Lemont, Illinois, for the past
7 eight years; he previously served 12 years as pastor at St.
8 Cajetan Church in Chicago, Illinois; and
9 WHEREAS, Father Sivore attended grade school at St.
10 Priscilla's on Chicago's Northwest Side and Quigley
11 Preparatory Seminary High School; he was ordained in 1964 by
12 the Archdiocese of Chicago after completing his studies at
13 St. Mary of the Lake Seminary; and
14 WHEREAS, As a young child growing up in Chicago, Father
15 Sivore decided early to follow in the footsteps of his uncle
16 and join the priesthood; and
17 WHEREAS, Father Sivore was particularly interested in
18 ensuring that children in his congregation received quality
19 education; he is credited for raising money to expand a
20 school run by Saints Cyril & Methodius Church; and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of the Reverend Victor Sivore will
22 be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
23 family and his congregation members at Saints Cyril &
24 Methodius Church in Lemont, Illinois; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
27 all who knew him, the death of the Reverend Victor Sivore of
28 Lemont, Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to James Sivore and Vic Markiewicz, president of
