 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1517

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1517 as follows:
 3    on page 2, by replacing lines 4 through 8 with the following:
 4    "pilot program shall require the pupillometer  technology  to
 5    be  used  in at least one Department of Corrections facility.
 6    The Director may expand  the  pilot  program  to  include  an
 7    additional   facility  or  facilities  as  he  or  she  deems
 8    appropriate. A minimum of 4,000 tests shall  be  included  in
 9    the  pilot program. The Department must report to the General
10    Assembly on the effectiveness of the program  by  January  1,
11    2003.".
