1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1494
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1494 on page 28,
3 immediately below line 5, by inserting the following:
4 "Section 10. The State Aid Continuing Appropriation Law
5 is amended by changing Sections 15-10, 15-15, 15-20, and
6 15-25 as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 235/15-10)
8 Sec. 15-10. Annual budget; recommendation. The Governor
9 shall include a Common School Fund recommendation to the
10 State Board of Education in the fiscal year 1999 through 2002
11 2001 annual Budgets sufficient to fund (i) the General State
12 Aid Formula set forth in subsection (E) (Computation of
13 General State Aid) and subsection (H) (Supplemental General
14 State Aid) of Section 18-8.05 of the School Code and (ii) the
15 supplementary payments for school districts set forth in
16 subsection (J) (Supplementary Grants in Aid) of Section
17 18-8.05 of the School Code.

2 years 1999 through 2002 2001 sufficient to fund (i) the
3 General State Aid Formula set forth in subsection (E)
4 (Computation of General State Aid) and subsection (H)
5 (Supplemental General State Aid) of Section 18-8.05 of the
6 School Code and (ii) the supplementary payments for school
7 districts set forth in subsection (J) (Supplementary Grants
8 in Aid) of Section 18-8.05 of the School Code.

11 Sec. 15-20. Continuing appropriation. If the General
12 Assembly fails to make Common School Fund appropriations to
13 the State Board of Education in fiscal years 1999 through
14 2002 2001 sufficient to fund (i) the General State Aid
15 Formula set forth in subsection (E) (Computation of General
16 State Aid) and subsection (H) (Supplemental General State
17 Aid) of Section 18-8.05 of the School Code and (ii) the
18 supplementary payments for school districts set forth in
19 subsection (J) (Supplementary Grants in Aid) of Section
20 18-8.05 of the School Code, this Article shall constitute an
21 irrevocable and continuing appropriation from the Common
22 School Fund of all amounts necessary for those purposes.
