 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1234

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1234  on  page  1,
 3    line 8, by changing "$30,000" to "$90,000"; and

 4    on  page  1,  by  replacing  lines  22  through  25  with the
 5    following:
 6        "If 2 or more individuals own property that is exempt  as
 7    a  homestead,  the  value of the exemption of each individual
 8    may not exceed his or  her  proportionate  share  of  $15,000
 9    based upon percentage of ownership."; and

10    on page 1, after line 26, by inserting the following:

11        "Section  99.  Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
12    becoming law.".
