 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 975

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 975  by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.   The  Election  Code is amended by changing
 5    Section 1-1 as follows:

 6        (10 ILCS 5/1-1) (from Ch. 46, par. 1-1)
 7        Sec. 1-1. Short title.  This Act  may  be  cited  as  the
 8    Election  Code.   This  Act  is  the  general election law of
 9    Illinois and any reference in any other Act to  "the  general
10    election  law" or "the general election law of this State" is
11    a reference to this Act, as now or hereafter amended.
