 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the  members  of
 3    the  Illinois  House  of  Representatives  that  Phyllis  Bee
 4    Sjostrom  Ebbers  has  retired  from Shirland School after 20
 5    years of service; and

 6        WHEREAS, She was born on June  26,  1936;  she  graduated
 7    from  Michigan  State University and moved to Shirland in the
 8    early 1970s; she  started  teaching  5th  grade  at  Shirland
 9    School in 1982; and

10        WHEREAS,  She  has  been  a  friend  and  mentor  to many
11    students, staff and families; she was queen of the  Pep  Club
12    concession  stand  for  the  home  volleyball  and basketball
13    games; she always made  sure  that  students  and  staff  had
14    spirit buttons for basketball season; she also starred in the
15    Kitchen Quartet performance; and

16        WHEREAS, She taught the challenging Double-Digit Division
17    and  used  "March  Madness"  and the final four as a teaching
18    aid; and

19        WHEREAS, She has been married to Harold Lyle  Ebbers  for
20    34  years  and  they have three children, Tim Ebbers and wife
21    Lisa, Margie and husband Marty Lenox and Jill  Trojniar;  she
22    has  six  grandchildren;  one brother, Bill Sjostrom; and one
23    sister, Karen Wilcox; her retirement will allow her to  spend
24    more time with her family; and

25        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
26    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27    we congratulate Phyllis Sjostrom  Ebbers  on  her  retirement
28    from  Shirland School and thank her for all her hard work and
29    dedication to help better educate the students of this State;
30    and be it further

31        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
