 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the State of Illinois are pleased to be able to recognize and
 4    honor  a  young  person who, through her quick response to an
 5    emergency situation, was successful in helping  to  save  the
 6    life of her mother; and

 7        WHEREAS,  It  has come to our attention that on Saturday,
 8    November 30, 2002, Kadasia Hutchinson, age 4, could not rouse
 9    her mother; she dialed 911 and calmly told the operator  that
10    her mother needed help; and

11        WHEREAS, Kadasia gave the operator her name, address, and
12    phone number, then used a security code to turn off the alarm
13    system;  she  maintained  her  composure  as she answered the
14    door, then led the paramedics  upstairs  to  her  unconscious
15    mother and back downstairs to the insulin; and

16        WHEREAS, Her quick action and composure saved the life of
17    her mother, Erica Douglas; therefore, be it

18        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
19    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20    we applaud and commend Kadasia Hutchinson for her  quick  and
21    heroic action which helped to save the life of Erica Douglas;
22    and be it further

23        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
24    presented to Kadasia  Hutchinson  as  an  expression  of  our
25    esteem.
