1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the State of
3 Illinois is pleased to recognize the achievements of citizens
4 of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Dr. Paul D.
6 Goldstein are being honored by the State of Israel Bonds on
7 Sunday, November 10, 2002; and
8 WHEREAS, The Goldsteins are both very active in State of
9 Israel Bonds activities and have contributed much to the
10 organization; Mrs. Goldstein served voluntarily for more than
11 15 years, including chairing the Women's Division of Israel
12 Bonds, the Fall Fashion Show and the Ambassador's Ball; she
13 helped to raise over 10 million dollars for the State of
14 Israel through her work on the Ambassador's Ball; Dr.
15 Goldstein serves on the continuing education committee of
16 North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in addition to being a
17 vigorous supporter of Israel Bonds; and
18 WHEREAS, The Goldsteins approached Evanston Northwestern
19 Highland Park Hospital about creating a health resource
20 center following the breast-cancer related death of Mrs.
21 Goldstein's sister, Myra Rubenstein Weis; since 1995, the
22 Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center has been open to
23 disseminate information on health and wellness, free of
24 charge; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Dr. Paul D.
28 Goldstein on being honored by State of Israel Bonds; and be
29 it further
30 RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Dr. Paul D.
