1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincerest condolences
4 to the family and friends of Warren Isaac Robinson II, who
5 passed away on July 14, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Warren Isaac Robinson II was born on September
7 9, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Fannie Mae Fain and
8 Warren Isaac Robinson; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson attended Parkside Grammar School
10 and Hyde Park High School; after high school "Rob", as he was
11 affectionately called, enlisted in the United States Armed
12 Forces and served a tour of duty in Korea; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson worked briefly for Pullman Railroad
14 and REA Express as a truck mechanic before going into the
15 grocery business at 7158 South Woodlawn in 1969; Rob's Foods
16 became a 33-year institution in the community; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson was an active member of Bray Temple
18 Church; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Warren Isaac Robinson II will be
20 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
21 wife of 38 years, Kathleen Lyons Robinson; his daughters,
22 Cozette, Annette, and Paulette; his son, Warren Isaac III;
23 his granddaughter, Mia Sequoia Yvonne Pettigrew; his nephew,
24 Dwight Robinson; his godson, Leonard Bonner; his
25 mother-in-law, Paula M. Johnson; his sister-in-law, Claudette
26 McLeMore; his maternal aunt, Peggy Goodman; his paternal
27 aunt, Ida Mathis; his nieces; his cousins; his special
28 friends, Harold Bryant, Gerrard Clifton, and Otis Moore; and
29 a multitude of customers, vendors, neighbors, and grateful
30 friends; therefore, be it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Warren
3 Isaac Robinson II; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Warren Isaac II with our sincere
6 condolences.
