1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to recognize significant events in
4 the lives of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Maria R.
6 Abraham, Richard E. Stamz, Kattie M. Williams, and Phyllis D.
7 Carry, all of the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago, have
8 been selected for induction into the Senior Citizen's Hall of
9 Fame; and
10 WHEREAS, Each year for the past 40 years, one senior
11 citizen is selected from each of the 50 aldermanic wards by
12 either an Alderman, a police district, an organization, or a
13 private citizen for his or her lifetime work of improving his
14 or her community and church and elevating the quality of life
15 of the children, seniors, and residents in his or her
16 neighborhood; and
17 WHEREAS, In addition to the honor, the seniors will
18 receive an award from Mayor Richard M. Daley and have their
19 pictures taken with the Commissioner of the Department of
20 Aging, which will be displayed in room 100 in City Hall for
21 the remainder of the year; and
22 WHEREAS, The seniors and their guests will be be honored
23 with a program at the Chicago Cultural Center on May 21,
24 2002; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Maria R. Abraham of the 15th Ward, Richard E.
28 Stamz of the 16th Ward, Kattie M. Williams of the 17th Ward,
29 and Phyllis D. Carry of the 20th Ward on their induction into
30 the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame and wish them all the best
31 in the future; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Maria R. Abraham, Richard E. Stamz, Kattie M.
3 Williams, and Phyllis D. Carry as an expression of our
4 esteem.
