1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize milestone events in the
4 lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that William Stahl
6 is retiring from the Somonauk Community Fire Prevention
7 District after 54 years of dedicated service as a trustee;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Stahl was one of the very first trustees for
10 the Somonauk Fire Prevention District when it was founded in
11 1948; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Stahl immigrated with his family from
13 Germany in 1912 and settled near Belvidere, Illinois, before
14 moving to Somonauk in 1914, where he sold fuel to farmers for
15 most of his life; and
16 WHEREAS, William Stahl, who is celebrating his 95th
17 birthday in May, continued to be very active in the fire
18 prevention district until recently; and
19 WHEREAS, William Stahl will be honored by the Somonauk
20 Fire Prevention District on May 7, 2002, in recognition of
21 his 54 years of dedicated and loyal service as a trustee;
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate William Stahl on his retirement as a trustee
26 for the Somonauk Fire Prevention District for the past 54
27 years, and we wish him well on the celebration of his 95th
28 birthday; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to William Stahl as an expression of our esteem.
