1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Betty A. Karfs, who passed away on
5 April 6, 2002; and
6 WHEREAS, Betty A. Karfs was born on November 26, 1929 to
7 the late Elmer and Henrietta Friedli; she was the wife of
8 Francis "Fank" Karfs, who preceded her in death; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Karfs was a license examiner for the State
10 of Illinois Motor Vehicle Department; she retired as an
11 administrative assistant for State Representative Yvetter
12 Younge and was a Democratic precinct committeewoman for many
13 years; in addition, she was an advocate of the Department of
14 Children and Family Services; and
15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Karfs was a member of St. Augustine of
16 Canterbury Catholic Church in Belleville; and
17 WHEREAS, The passing of Betty Karfs will be deeply felt
18 by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, Craig
19 (Kathy) Karfs, Michael Karfs, Randy (Patricia) Karfs, Linda
20 Karfs, and Todd Karfs; her sister, Pat Shift; her
21 grandchildren, Angie, Chad, Michael, Rusty, David, Jeremy,
22 Amy, Ashley, Shilo, and Morris; and her great-grandchildren,
23 Devin and Miranda; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Betty A.
27 Karfs of Belleville, Illinois; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Betty A. Karfs with our sincere
30 condolences.
