1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, November 23, 2001 marked the date of the 75th
3 birthday of Joseph J. Levar, Jr. of Chicago; and
4 WHEREAS, Joseph J. Levar, Jr. has led a life of
5 accomplishment during which Dolores, his bride of 51 years,
6 loved and supported him in his every effort; together they
7 sought to advance their lot in life while relishing their
8 role as cherished parents to their six sons, Alderman Patrick
9 Levar (Mary Ann), Mike (Joan), Tom (Debra), Jerry (Robin),
10 Joe, and Dan (Marianne); and
11 WHEREAS, Joseph J. Levar, Jr. retired as an executive
12 from the Coca Cola Company in November, 1986 after an
13 impressive tenure of 38 years; and
14 WHEREAS, Joseph J. Levar, Jr. believes strongly in the
15 principles of the Democratic Party and has participated as a
16 volunteer for over 30 years within the ranks of the 45th Ward
17 Regular Democratic Organization; he realized every parent's
18 dream of seeing their child achieve success when his son
19 Patrick was elected Alderman of the 45th Ward; and
20 WHEREAS, Demonstrative of the solidity of family life,
21 Joseph J. Levar, Jr. dotes on his mother, Myrtle (age 94
22 years), and revels in his role as "Grandpa" to his 13 own
23 beloved grandchildren, Pat Jr., Michelle, Ryan, Julie, Mike
24 Jr., Jeffry, Nicole, Tom, Lauren, Joe, Christine, Brandon,
25 and Austin; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we hereby extend our best wishes to Joseph J. Levar, Jr. on
29 the occasion of his 75th birthday and offer our further good
30 wishes for many continued years of robust health to indulge
31 in all his passions, including his hobbies of fishing and

1 travel, and to maintain his acknowledged statewide reputation
2 as the #1 Cub fan in Illinois; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Joseph J. Levar, Jr. as an expression of our
5 esteem.
