1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Larry Greene, who passed away on
5 November 17, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Larry Greene was born on October 17, 1940 in
7 Centralia, Illinois to Edwin F. and Mable Greene; he married
8 Nancy Hodges on December 16, 1962 in East St. Louis,
9 Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Greene was a United States Navy veteran
11 serving in Vietnam; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Greene served as Mayor of Wamac, Illinois
13 since 1984 and on the North Wamac Board of Education for the
14 past 17 years; in addition, he was a Wamac alderman from 1974
15 to 1984 and owned Center Street Gallery; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Greene was a member of Faith United
17 Methodist Church; he was also a member of the Southern
18 Illinois Mayors Association, the Greater Centralia Enterprise
19 Zone, the Centralia Chamber of Commerce, and the Professional
20 Picture Framers Association; and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of Larry Greene will be deeply felt
22 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Nancy
23 Greene; his mother, Mable Greene; his sons, Michael Greene
24 and his wife Toni and Mark Greene and his wife Kristie; his
25 brothers, William L. Greene and his wife Mary and Edwin F.
26 Greene, Jr. and his wife Jane; his sisters-in-law, Jessie
27 Elliott and Mary Ann Norton; and his grandchildren, Brandon
28 Veller, Elizabeth Greene, Danielle Greene, and Andrea Greene;
29 therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Larry
2 Greene of Wamac, Illinois; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the family of Larry Greene with our sincere
5 condolences.
