1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize notable achievements
4 in high school sports; and
5 WHEREAS, The Carl Sandburg High School Girls Varsity
6 Volleyball Team, the Eagles, captured second place honors at
7 the IHSA State Class AA Volleyball Championship on November
8 3, 2001; and
9 WHEREAS, The team consists of Gina Guide, Kathy
10 Sulkowski, Patty Melinauskas, Cara Vaccarello, Laura
11 Bronkhorst, Marcia Faustin, Eileen Cassidy, Sarah Kwasigroch,
12 Katie Goelitz, Colleen Byrne, Jill Cunningham, Cydney Krause,
13 Eva Ruzich, Jill Hushka, and Jenny Keresztes; their head
14 coach is Joann Holverson and their assistant coaches are
15 Kelly Martenz, David Vales, and Connie Bartlett; and
16 WHEREAS, During their outstanding season, the Eagles
17 displayed outstanding sportsmanship and dedication and
18 represented Carl Sandburg High School, their fans, and the
19 Orland Park community with distinction; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate the Carl Sandburg High School Girls Varsity
23 Volleyball Team on capturing second place honors at the 2001
24 IHSA State Class AA Volleyball Championship; and be it
25 further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Mike Mecozzi, principal of Carl Sandburg High
28 School, Joann Holverson, head coach of the Eagles, assistant
29 coaches, Kelly Martenz, David Vales, and Connie Bartlett, and
30 each member of the team.
