1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Lowell Masters, who passed away on
5 October 18, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Lowell Masters was born on September 17, 1911 in
7 Woodlawn, Illinois to Raymond and Alice Masters; he married
8 Eileen Kern on February 9, 1935 in Marion County; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Masters worked at Siegler Heater Company,
10 Centralia Cab Company, and Wimberly Bus Service; he was a
11 United States Army veteran of World War II, serving with
12 General George Patton's 3rd Army in the Battle of the Bulge;
13 in addition, he was a member of Donoho Prairie Christian
14 Church; and
15 WHEREAS, The passing of Lowell Masters will be deeply
16 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife
17 Eileen Masters; his son, Lowell Kern (wife, Betty) Masters;
18 his daughter, May Etta Chapman; his brothers, Ray Masters and
19 Roy Masters; his sisters, Erma Seagraves and Margie Elliston;
20 his grandchildren, Greg Masters, Marlena Pate, and Kayla
21 Thomas; and his great-grandchildren, James Masters, Debbie
22 Masters, Tyson Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Christy Pate, Adam
23 Pate, and Joshua Pate; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Lowell
27 Masters of Centralia, Illinois; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Lowell Masters with our sincere
30 condolences.
