 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are pleased to recognize milestone events in
 4    the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that  Richard  Roth
 6    is retiring after 33 years of service at Danville High School
 7    at the end of the 2001 school year; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Richard  Roth  earned  his bachelor's degree in
 9    history  and  his  master's  degree  in  education   at   the
10    University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana; and

11        WHEREAS,  Richard  Roth  served in the United States Navy
12    from 1963 through 1965; he credits  his  military  experience
13    for getting him interested in teaching; and

14        WHEREAS,  Richard  Roth  began  his  teaching  career  at
15    Danville  High  School in 1969; during his 33-year tenure, he
16    has had the opportunity to  teach  history,  psychology,  and
17    sociology to Danville's youth; and

18        WHEREAS, During his tenure, Richard Roth has provided his
19    students  with  encouragement  and  exposed them to different
20    experiences  beyond  the  textbooks;   he   will   miss   the
21    enthusiasm,   the   optimism  and  the  youthfulness  of  his
22    students; and

23        WHEREAS, Richard Roth plans to spend his retirement  with
24    his family and busying himself with hobbies; therefore, be it

25        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
26    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27    we congratulate  Richard  Roth  on  his  retirement  after  a
28    33-year  teaching  career at Danville High School and we wish
29    him well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

30        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
