 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representative  are  pleased to recognize outstanding efforts
 4    of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS, Gayle Jeffries has worked in the  Urbana  School
 6    District  for the past ten years; she has served as Principal
 7    for seven of those years; and

 8        WHEREAS, As Principal, Gayle Jeffries  creates  incentive
 9    programs to encourage spirit and pride among her students and
10    staff  at Urbana School; this year she told her students that
11    if they read 15,000 books during the school year,  she  would
12    sit  on  the  roof  of  the  school in a rocking chair in her
13    pajama's with rollers in her hair; in response, the  students
14    read 17,332 books; and

15        WHEREAS,  Gayle  Jeffries  is supported by her loving and
16    very proud family; and

17        WHEREAS, Gayle Jeffries has distinguished  herself  as  a
18    dedicated  educator  who  will  go to new lengths to keep her
19    students on top academically; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we congratulate Gayle Jeffries for her dedication and service
23    as  Principal  of  Urbana  School  District  and  we wish her
24    continued success; and be it further

25        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
26    presented to Gayle Jeffries as an expression of our esteem.
