1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Beatrice Jackson Forney, who passed
5 away on May 6, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Beatrice Jackson Forney was born on April 22,
7 1917 in Greenville, Mississippi to Hiriam and Mary Jane
8 Carter Jackson; she was married to the late James Forney; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Forney was a life long resident of
10 Springfield, Illinois and attended Springfield Public
11 Schools; she was active in Parent-Teacher Associations, the
12 University of Illinois Homemaker Extension Services Nutrition
13 Club, and St. John's A.M.E. Church's Fundraising
14 Organization; she was also a member of Union Baptist Church;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, The passing of Beatrice Jackson Forney will be
17 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her
18 daughters, Mary Jane and B. Louise Forney; her step-daughter,
19 Betty (husband, John) Collins; her grandchildren, James and
20 DeShana Forney; her six step-grandchildren; her several
21 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Josie Jackson; her
22 nephews, Hiriam E. Jackson, Jr., Keith Jackson, Pierre
23 Jackson, and Richard Jackson; her niece, Mary Frances
24 Jackson; and her many cousins and friends; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Beatrice
28 Jackson Forney of Springfield, Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the family of Beatrice Jackson Forney with our
31 sincere condolences.
