1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joel Farber is
6 stepping down from his duties as Commissioner of the Skokie
7 Park District this year; and
8 WHEREAS, Joel Farber was elected to the position of
9 Commissioner in 1995, after serving 10 years on the Skokie
10 Park District Citizens Committee, and as Chair of the
11 committee for 5 years; and
12 WHEREAS, Joel Farber has overseen the creation of the
13 Skokie Sports Park, renovations to the Oakton Community
14 Center, and development of the Devonshire Cultural Center,
15 Tot Learning Center, Emily Oaks Nature Center, and many
16 parks; and
17 WHEREAS, Joel Farber always made a conscious effort to
18 attend Park District and other community events in order to
19 improve the quality of life for Skokie residents; therefore,
20 be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate Joel Farber for his dedication as
24 Commissioner of the Skokie Park District and for his many
25 years of service to the Skokie community, and we wish him
26 well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Joel Farber as an expression of our esteem.
