1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone
4 achievements of a citizen from the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, On January 23, 2001, Richard Anthony Juliano was
6 appointed by President George W. Bush as White House Liaison
7 to the United States Department of Transportation; and
8 WHEREAS, Richard Anthony Juliano was born on January 21,
9 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dr. Louis J. and Elizabeth Bares
10 Juliano; he is the youngest of five siblings who include L.
11 James Juliano, Jr., Jeffrey Juliano, Jane Juliano-Schreiber,
12 and Elizabeth Juliano; and
13 WHEREAS, Richard Anthony Juliano graduated in 1985 from
14 Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio; he graduated Phi Beta
15 Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy from
16 the University of Chicago and received his Law Degree from
17 the University of Chicago Law School in 1998; he was admitted
18 to the Illinois Bar Association in 1998 and the District of
19 Columbia Bar Association in 2000; and
20 WHEREAS, Richard Anthony Juliano served as a Presidential
21 intern for President George H. Bush in 1988; in 1989, he
22 began working in Illinois State government under Governor
23 James R. Thompson; he has served as an Executive Assistant to
24 Secretary of State George H. Ryan and served as Deputy Chief
25 of Staff for Governor Ryan from 1998 until 2001; in 2000, Mr.
26 Juliano took a leave of absence from his duties as Deputy
27 Chief of Staff to serve as Deputy Chairman of the Illinois
28 Republican Party; and
29 WHEREAS, Richard Anthony Juliano is married to Ericka R.
30 Juliano; they are the proud parents of daughter, Jacqueline
31 Elizabeth; Mr. Juliano is an avid Cleveland Indians fan, jazz

1 pianist, and record collector; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we congratulate Richard Anthony Juliano on his appointment by
5 President George W. Bush as White House Liaison to the United
6 States Department of Transportation on January 23, 2001; and
7 be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Richard Anthony Juliano as an expression of our
10 esteem.
