1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Richard L.
6 Stubblefield is retiring from an outstanding 25-year career
7 as Head Advisor of the Mt. Vernon High School Delegation of
8 Illinois YMCA Youth and Government; and
9 WHEREAS, Richard Stubblefield has been affiliated with
10 the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government Board of Directors
11 since 1987; he has served as Vice-Chairperson since 1994;
12 other positions he has held include Parliamentarian
13 Supervisor, Facilities Control Director, Legislative
14 Committee Coordinator, House and Senate Chamber Security
15 Director, and as Director of Transportation; and
16 WHEREAS, Richard Stubblefield's first delegation at Mt.
17 Vernon High School has grown from an initial eight students
18 to seventy-one students this year; under his teaching and
19 mentoring, Mt. Vernon High School has elected eight youth
20 governors for Illinois YMCA Youth and Government; and
21 WHEREAS, Richard Stubblefield is not the only member of
22 his family to participate in Illinois YMCA Youth and
23 Government, Mr. Stubblefield's wife, Carolyn, has also been
24 an advisor with the Mt. Vernon High School delegation; his
25 daughter, Sara Stubblefield, is a current member of the
26 Illinois YMCA Youth and Government Board of Directors, and
27 his daughter Jennifer Stubblefield Lobenhofer was a long-time
28 member of the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government Advisory
29 Staff; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Richard L. Stubblefield for his dedicated and
2 loyal 25-year career to the Illinois YMCA Youth and
3 Government, and we wish him well in his upcoming retirement;
4 and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Richard L. Stubblefield as an expression of our
7 esteem.
