1 AN ACT in relation to the transfer of real property.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. The Director of the Department of Natural
5 Resources, on behalf of the State of Illinois, is authorized
6 to Convey and Quit Claim unto the City of Granite City, an
7 Illinois unit of local government, its successors and
8 assigns, for and in consideration of $1.00 paid to said
9 Department, a non-exclusive, unobstructed, perpetual easement
10 for the purpose of constructing, installing, or laying, and
11 thereafter using, operating, inspecting, repairing,
12 maintaining, and replacing a storm water ditch or sewer on,
13 over, under, and across all or part of the following
14 described real property, subject to such conditions as may be
15 deemed necessary by said Department to protect the public
16 interest, to wit:
17 An 80-foot wide tract of land being 40 feet wide on
18 either side of a centerline located in the West Half of
19 Section 15, Township 3 North, Range 9 West of the Third
20 Principal Meridian, Madison County, Illinois, said
21 centerline being more fully described as follows:
22 Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Northwest
23 Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 15;
24 thence North along the East line of said Northwest
25 Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 15, a
26 distance of 574.2 feet to a point on the southeasterly
27 right-of-way line of the former Nickel Plate Railroad;
28 thence Southwesterly along said right-of-way line, a
29 distance of 69.04 feet to a point on the centerline of a
30 tract of land conveyed to the Alton and Southern
31 Railroad Company by deed recorded in Book 550, Page 167
32 in the records of Madison County, Illinois, and being

1 the Point of Beginning of the centerline being described;
2 thence South along the centerline of said tract conveyed
3 to the Alton and Southern Railroad Company, a distance of
4 2700 feet, more or less, to a point on the Northerly
5 shoreline of Horseshoe Lake, being the Termination Point
6 of the centerline being described;
7 Said 80-foot wide tract being bounded on the North
8 by the Southeasterly right-of-way line of the former
9 Nickel Plate Railroad, and on the South by the Northerly
10 shoreline of Horseshoe Lake.
11 Section 900. The Director of Natural Resources shall
12 obtain a certified copy of the portions of this Act
13 containing the title, enacting clause, the effective date,
14 the appropriate Section or Sections containing the land
15 descriptions of the property to be transferred or otherwise
16 affected, and this Section within 60 days after its effective
17 date and, upon receipt of the payment required by the Section
18 or Sections, if any payment is required, shall record the
19 certified document in the Recorder's Office in the county in
20 which the land is located.
21 Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effective
22 upon becoming law.
