2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3408, by deleting
3 everything after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu
4 thereof the following:

1 Section 4. The amount of $100,000, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Title III Social
3 Security and Employment Service Fund to the Department of
4 Employment Security for expenses related to the development
5 of training programs.
6 Section 5. The amount of $3,500,000, or so much thereof
7 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Title III
8 Social Security and Employment Service Fund to the Department
9 of Employment Security for expenses related to Employment
10 Security automation.
11 Section 6. The amount of $220,000,000, or so much
12 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated to the
13 Department of Employment Security from the Title III Social
14 Security and Employment Service Fund for grants for Federal
15 Workforce Development Programs including Job Training
16 Partnership Act and Workforce Investment Act.
17 Section 7. The amount of $84,000,000, or so much thereof
18 as may be necessary, is appropriated to the Department of
19 Employment Security from the Title III Social Security and
20 Employment Service Fund for administration and grant expenses
21 of the Welfare to Work Grant Programs, or other job training,
22 education, or employment programs.
23 Section 8. The amount of $8,000,000, or so much thereof
24 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Title III
25 Social Security and Employment Service Fund to the Department
26 of Employment Security for expenses related to a Benefit
27 Information System Redefinition.
28 Section 9. The amount of $2,000,000, or so much thereof
29 as may be necessary, is appropriated to the Department of

1 Employment Security from the Unemployment Compensation
2 Special Administration Fund for expenses related to Legal
3 Assistance as required by law.
4 Section 10. The amount of $10,000,000, or so much
5 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated to the
6 Department of Employment Security from the Unemployment
7 Compensation Special Administration Fund for deposit into the
8 Title III Social Security and Employment Service Fund.
9 Section 11. The sum of $2,450,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
11 business on June 30, 2000, from appropriations and
12 reappropriations heretofore made for such purposes in Article
13 10, Sections 2f and 2h of Public Act 91-22, is reappropriated
14 to the Department of Employment Security from the Employment
15 Security Administration Fund for the purposes authorized by
16 Public Act 87-1178.
17 Section 12. The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as
18 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Unemployment
19 Compensation Special Administration Fund to the Department of
20 Employment Security for Interest on Refunds of Erroneously
21 Paid Contributions, Penalties and Interest.
22 Section 13. The sum of $8,400,000, or so much thereof as
23 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
24 Fund to the Department of Employment Security, Trust Fund
25 Unit, for unemployment compensation benefits to Former State
26 Employees.
27 Section 14. The following named amounts, or so much
28 thereof as may be necessary, are appropriated to the
29 Department of Employment Security, Trust Fund Unit, for

1 unemployment compensation benefits, other than benefits
2 provided for in Section 3, to Former State Employees as
3 follows:

28 outreach services for veterans, as provided for in the
29 Vietnam Veterans' Act.
30 Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
31 1, 2001.".
