1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 921
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 921 as follows:
3 on page 1, in line 20, by deleting "Profession"; and
4 on page 1, below line 20, by inserting the following:
5 "Section 15. The Interior Design Profession Title Act is
6 amended by changing Sections 1 and 4.5 as follows:
7 (225 ILCS 310/1) (from Ch. 111, par. 8201)
8 Sec. 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
9 Interior Design Profession Title Act.

12 Sec. 4.5. Unregistered practice; violation; civil
13 penalty.
14 (a) Any person who practices, offers to practice,
15 attempts to practice, or holds himself or herself oneself out
16 to be practice as an interior designer without being
17 registered under this Act shall, in addition to any other
18 penalty provided by law, pay a civil penalty to the
19 Department in an amount not to exceed $5,000 for each offense
20 as determined by the Department. The civil penalty shall be

1 assessed by the Department after a hearing is held in
2 accordance with the provisions set forth in this Act
3 regarding the provision of a hearing for the discipline of a
4 licensee.
5 (b) The Department has the authority and power to
6 investigate any illegal use of the title of interior designer
7 or residential interior designer and all unlicensed activity.
8 (c) The civil penalty shall be paid within 60 days after
9 the effective date of the order imposing the civil penalty.
10 The order shall constitute a judgment and may be filed and
11 execution had thereon in the same manner as any judgment from
12 any court of record.
